Foundation Learning will provide progression pathways at entry level and level 1. Progression Pathways are not qualifications in and of themselves but are frameworks for learning, built from qualifications at entry level and level 1 within the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

There is a pilot scheme underway in North Northants which will provide a framework for good practice to develop throughout the county during the academic year 2010-11. There are many programmes already evident an in progress in Northamptonshire’s Colleges and some driven through the Learn4Work programme.
